Box Score HANOVER PARK, Ill. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team held off Wheaton College 5-4 on Saturday at Centre Court Athletic Club. The Blugolds clinched the dual with Sydney Presler's (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) third-set win at No. 4 singles.

The Blugolds won three singles matches and a pair of doubles matches. Samantha Fuchs (Jr. - DeForest, Wis.) and Anna Lee (So. - Buffalo, Minn.) teamed up to win the No. 1 doubles match 8-1, and Presler and Morgan Dekan (Jr. - Altoona, Wis.) won the No. 2 match 8-7. It gave UW-Eau Claire a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.

Fuchs prevailed 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Lee won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. The Thunder claimed the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 matches though, levelling the score at 4-4 with only the No. 4 match left in play. Presler sealed the Blugolds' win with a 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 victory there.

UW-Eau Claire will be right back in action on Sunday, April 21. The Blugolds visit Carthage College in Kenosha for a 10 a.m. dual.
