ORLANDO, Fla. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team rallied past St. Lawrence 5-4 on Tuesday to pick up a third straight victory. The Blugolds trailed 2-1 after doubles play concluded, but they won four of the six singles matches to clinch the victory.
Liv Herzog (So. - Owatonna, Minn.) and
Téa Armstrong (Jr. - Blue Earth, Minn./Blue Earth Area) triumphed at No. 3 doubles 8-7 to give the Blugolds their only win in those three matches. UW-Eau Claire responded in a big way in singles action though, picking up wins from
Anna Lee (So. - Buffalo, Minn.) at No. 2,
Sydney Presler (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) at No. 4, Herzog at No. 5 and Armstrong at No. 6.
Lee sealed the win for the Blugolds with a 10-6 tiebreak win in the third set at No. 2 singles.
UW-Eau Claire has a day off before returning to the courts on Thursday, March 21, to take on Luther. The dual is set for 12 p.m. Eastern at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
