ORLANDO, Fla. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team swept a pair of duals to begin its trip to Florida on Monday. The Blugolds beat Oglethorpe 9-0 and William Smith 7-2.
In their first dual of the day, the Blugolds swept Oglethorpe 9-0. They won the dual without dropping a set.
Anna Lee (So. – Buffalo, Minn.) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and both
Téa Armstrong (Jr. – Blue Earth Area, Minn./Blue Earth Area) and
Sydney Presler (Sr. – Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) won while only dropping one game across both sets.
Armstrong and
Liv Herzog (So. – Owatonna, Minn.) won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles. Lee and
Samantha Fuchs (Jr. – DeForest, Wis.) won 8-1.
Against William Smith, the Blugolds swept all three of the doubles matches, including a tiebreak victory for Fuchs and Lee at No. 1. Fuchs, Lee, Presler and Herzog all won in singles action.
The Blugolds are right back in action on Tuesday, March 19. The Blugolds play St. Lawrence at 10 a.m. Eastern.
