ROCHESTER, Minn. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team dropped a dual to Carleton College 9-0 on Saturday at Rochester Tennis Connection. The Knights, ranked No. 31 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, won six singles matches and three doubles matches to sweep the dual.
The Blugolds' closest match came at No. 3 doubles, where
Morgan Dekan (Jr. - Altoona, Wis.) and
Sydney Presler (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) fell by a narrow 8-6 margin. Presler also dropped a 6-4, 6-4 decision at No. 4 singles.
Téa Armstrong (Jr. - Blue Earth, Minn.) took a set to a tiebreak but fell at No. 6 singles 6-2, 7-6 (4).
UW-Eau Claire dropped to 0-2 in duals during the spring portion of their 2023-24 campaign. The Blugolds will look to bounce back with duals against UW-Superior and Grinnell College on Sunday, March 3, in Owatonna, Minnesota.
