EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team fell to Bethel 5-4 in its spring opener on Friday at John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center. The Blugolds won three singles matches and a doubles match, but it wasn't quite enough to knock off the Royals.
Sydney Presler (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona),
Liv Herzog (So. - Owatonna, Minn.) and
Téa Armstrong (Jr. - Blue Earth, Minn./Blue Earth Area) all won singles matches for the Blugolds. Presler won 7-6 (2), 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Herzog prevailed 6-4, 7-5 at No. 5 singles. Armstrong won 6-4, 7-6 (3) in No. 6 singles.

Samantha Fuchs (Jr. - DeForest, Wis.) teamed up to win the No. 3 doubles match for UW-Eau Claire. They won by an 8-6 scoreline.
The Blugolds will look to bounce back when they take on Carleton in a dual on Saturday, February 24. The action is slated to begin at 1 p.m. at Rochester Tennis Connection in Rochester, Minnesota.
