EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed against Division II opponent St. Cloud State on Friday and Saturday. The Blugolds held their own against the DII foe, but the men fell 179-83 and the women fell 173-89.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blugold men and women had two individual event winners apiece.
- Kadin Denner (Sr. - Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail) won the men's 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:02.44. Adam Kamel (Fr. - Minneapolis, Minn./St. Louis Park) finished first in the men's 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.46.
- Sydney McGuine (Sr. - Huntley, Ill.) won the women's 100-yard backstroke in 59.86 seconds. Elaina Plonis (Sr. - Macomb, Mich./Eisenhower) took first in the women's 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 2:12.74.
- Both Blugolds squads also had several second-place finishers.

The Blugolds will compete at the Rochester Invite, hosted by St. Cloud State, from December 5-7 in Rochester, Minnesota.
