STEVENS POINT, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie with UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday at the UWSP Turf Facility, drawing the Pointers 0-0. Neither side could crack through the other's defense and both walked away with a point in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kennedy Boll (Sr. - Franklin, Wis.) and Bella Jones (So. - Neenah, Wis.) combined in goal to post a shutout for the Blugolds. Jones made three saves and Boll added one. Each played 45 minutes in net.
- UW-Eau Claire held an 18-9 advantage in shots. The Blugolds tallied five shots on goal compared to four for the Pointers.
- Each side took six corner kicks, but the defenses held strong each time.
- It was a second consecutive tie in WIAC play for the Blugolds, who drew UW-Whitewater 1-1 on October 5.
