DE PERE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team blanked St. Norbert College 5-0 on Sunday at Schneider Stadium. The Blugolds matched their season-high tally for goals to win their final non-conference matchup of the regular season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-Eau Claire (7-7-4) scored three times in the first half and added two more strikes in the second half.
- Five different Blugolds found the back of the net. Sabrina Pickart (Jr. – Oshkosh, Wis./Oshkosh West) started the scoring in the 12th minute off an assist by Grace Prairie (Jr. – Blaine, Minn./Centennial). Molly Henderson (Sr. – Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) doubled the lead with a goal in the 26th minute, assisted by Johanna Thompson (Fr. – Green Bay, Wis./Preble).
- The Blugolds entered the break with a 3-0 lead after Josie Ellingson (Sr. – Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) struck in the 43rd minute.
- Thompson scored the Blugolds' fourth goal in the 58th minute off an assist by Sophie Hubbard (Sr. – De Pere, Wis.), and Taylor Czarapata (So. – Muskego, Wis.) closed out the scoring in the 76th minute.
- Three goalkeepers teamed up for the shutout: Kennedy Boll (Sr. – Franklin, Wis.), Bella Jones (So. – Neenah, Wis.) and Ella Swanson (So. – Lakeville, Minn./Eastview). Jones made three saves and Boll added one.
