WHITEWATER, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Midwest ITA Regional on Sunday at UW-Whitewater. Samantha Fuchs (Jr. - DeForest, Wis.) was the lone Blugold in action.

Fuchs had advanced to the singles quarterfinals across the first two days of the tournament. She faced seventh-seeded Ioanna Giannakou of Grinnell on Sunday morning and fell 6-2, 7-6 (7). Fuchs made it furhter into the singles bracket than any other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competitor.

The Blugolds will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 27, with a WIAC dual against UW-La Crosse. UW-Eau Claire will be the host, with matches set for 3:30 p.m. at South Middle School.
