Boll, Blugolds earn shutout in tie with St. Olaf

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team earned a second consecutive shutout in a 0-0 tie with St. Olaf on Tuesday afternoon. Kennedy Boll (Jr. - Franklin, Wis.) matched a season high with seven saves in goal to keep the Oles off the scoreboard, pushing the Blugolds' unbeaten run to four matches.

St. Olaf peppered UW-Eau Claire's goal with shots all afternoon, but Boll and the rest of the Blugolds' defense was up to the task. The Oles had 15 shots and put seven on target, but none got past Boll. The keeper made three saves in the first half and four in the second half to earn a clean sheet.

The Blugolds took seven shots, with six coming after halftime. One went on target, but St. Olaf saved it. UW-Eau Claire controlled 45% of the possession across the match.

UW-Eau Claire moved to 4-1-2 with the draw. The Blugolds are back at home on Thursday, Sept. 21, against Macalester. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
