EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team dropped a dual against UW-Whitewater 6-3 on Saturday at Eau Claire North High School. The Blugolds picked up two singles victories and another in doubles.

Samantha Fuchs (Jr. - DeForest, Wis.) won at No. 3 singles for UW-Eau Claire, taking her match 7-6 (3), 6-3. Liv Herzog (So. - Owatonna, Minn.) won at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-2. Sydney Presler (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) won the first set of her No. 6 singles match, but eventually fell in a narrow three-set tiebreaker.

The doubles team of Morgan Dekan (Jr. - Altoona, Wis.) and Anna Lee (So. - Buffalo, Minn.) prevailed at 8-6 in the No. 3 flight. All three doubles matches were decided by three games or less.

The Blugolds will compete in the Midwest ITA Regional from Sept. 22-25 in Whitewater, Wis.
