KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Blugolds.com) - The United Soccer coaches organization released the 2023 NCAA Division III All-Region teams on Tuesday. After another historic season, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's soccer players, Nathan Donovan (Jr. - Hazel Green, Wis./Wahlert Catholic) and Ethan Andersen (Sr. - Burnsville, Minn.) were named to the Region IX All-Region team for their play on the field during the 2023 season.

Nathan Donovan continued his success in a Blugold kit with another stellar season as Eau Claire's front man and earned his spot on the All-Region First Team, The junior forward finished the season with the second most goals in NCAA Division III as he found the back of the net 24 times in 2023. Along with his scoring ability, Donovan also ranked seocnd in NCAA Division III for total points with 61 on the year. Nathan surpassed his own program's season records for total goals and total points from last year. 

Ethan Andersen played a consistent and dominant role on Eau Claire's back line throughout 2023 as the Blugolds averaged just 1.10 goals against per game, earning him a spot on the All-Region Third Team. Andersen helped lead UWEC as the team captain and helped Eau Claire record ten shutouts on the year. The senior defender logged the most minutes played for the Blugolds and recorded 8 points (2G, 4A), including a goal and an assist in the Blugolds' round of 16 game against St. Olaf.
