Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Yengo earns 300th career victory

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer coach Sean Yengo earned his 300th career victory when the Blugolds defeated UW-Oshkosh 1-0 on Saturday at Simpson Field. Yengo becomes only the second women's soccer coach in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference history to hit the 300-win milestone and currently ranks 2nd in the WIAC for career victories.

Yengo, in his 27th season leading the Blugolds, now has a career record of 300-175-50. His 300 victories are the most by a coach in program history and are the most by any active women's soccer coach in the WIAC. He is now one of just over 50 coaches in Division III history to have reached the milestone and is one of only 25 active Division III coaches with 300 wins.

Yengo recorded his first victory back in 1997 when the Blugolds defeated Carleton College 2-0 on the road. During his first season at the helm, Yengo's squad went 10-6-1 during the regular season and 6-2 in conference play. The Blugolds made the WIAC tournament and advanced to the semifinals with a 4-1 win over UW-Stout.

UW-Eau Claire (7-3-3, WIAC 2-1-1) will be back in action with a nonconference game against Bethel (Minn.) on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Simpson Field.
