ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's cross country team competed at the Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday, October 14
th. The Blugolds took 14
th out of 43 teams in the varsity race, scoring 445 points. In the open race, the Blugolds took 20
th out of 34 teams, scoring 585 points.
In the varsity race,
Mason Shea (Sr. – River Falls, Wis.) was first in for the Blugolds placing 28
th overall in a time of 25:10.9. Following behind Mason was
Trevor LaMirande (Sr. - Dresser, Wis.) placing 43
rd overall in a time of 25:25.4. Rounding out the Blugolds top 5 in the varsity race was
Eric Kordus (Sr. - Mosinee, Wis.) running a time of 26:09.7,
Carl Lundgren (Jr. – Auburndale, Wis.) with a time of 26:09.9, and
Jesse Peterson (Jr. – St. Paul, Minn.) with a time of 26:19.6.
In the open race,
Wes Bruning (Fr. – Woodbury, Minn.) was first in for the Blugolds placing 114
th overall and running a time of 27:48.6.
Evan Guenther (So. – Monticello, Wis.) was next in for the Blugolds placing 128
th overall in a time of 27:57.3
The Blugold men will continue to build on the momentum from today's race in preparation for the WIAC Championship on October 28
th in Prescott, Wis. UW-River Falls will be this year's host for the WIAC Championship.
