EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team hosted UW-Stout and Bethel University at the YMCA Menard's Tennis Center on Saturday, with the Blugolds earning an 8-1 win over Stout and fell 2-7 to Bethel.

Elaine Franta (Fr. – White Bear Lake, MN) and Emma Barnd (So. – Wells, MN/United South Central) led the Blugolds on the day, as both went 2-0.
In her first match of the day at No. 4 singles, Franta defeated Stout's Kennedy Kleist 6-1, 6-0. Against Bethel, she won a hard-fought match over Sydney Rott, 4-6, 7-6, 10-7.
Barnd earned both wins at No. 6 singles. Facing Blue Devil Elizabeth Wahlquist, Barnd tallied a 6-0, 6-2 victory. In her final match, she defeated Rylee Schurman 6-7, 0-6, 10-5.
Eau Claire will continue their homestand on Friday, Sept. 13th as they host UW-Whitewater and then UW-River Falls and Saint Benedict on Sunday.
