Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team hosted UW- River Falls and St. Benedict's (Minn.) Saturday at the YMCA Menard's Tennis Center. The Blugolds defeated River Falls 8-1 in a hard fought match, and went on to defeat St. Ben's 7-2 later in the day.
The Blugolds went 8-0 in doubles on the day, and only dropped one of its singles matches against the Falcons, and two against the Blazers. Natalie Wijesinghe (Sr.—Apple Valley, MN/Apple Valley) went undefeated in singles on the weekend, and teammates Lindsey Henderson (So. Prior Lake,MN/ Prior Lake) and Elaine Franta (Fr. White Bear Lake, MN/ White Bear Lake) went 2-1 in doubles on the weekend.
The Blugolds are back in action next Friday and Saturday in St. Peter, MN in the ITA Tournament.
