Women's Tennis Downs UW-Oshkosh

Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com)-The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team notched another win on Saturday defeating the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 9-0.

UW-Eau Claire (6-1 overall and 5-1 WIAC) swept the three doubles matches and won each of the six singles matches in straight sets. Natalie Wijesinghe (Apple Valley, MN) and partner Emily Cooper  (White Bear, Minn.) defeated Alyssa Leffler/Michelle Spicer (UWO) 8-1 at number one doubles. Hanna Zevenbergen (Baldwin,Wis./ Baldwin-Woodville) and Molly Stewart (Amery, WI) had another impressive day at number two doubles with an 8-2 victory.  Alexa Brooks (Beaver Dam, Wis.) paired up with Lindsey Henderson (Prior Lake, Minn.) and earned an 8-0 victory at number three doubles. In singles action, Wijesinghe led the way at number one singles with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph. Cooper and Stewart won in dominate fashion at number two and three singles, respectively. Zevenbergen notches another win at number four singles and Barnd followed suite at number five singles. Rachel Slonac (Muskego, Wis.) finished the Blugolds sweep with an 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ireland Slattery (UWO). 

The Blugolds will compete in the WIAC tournament next weekend at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis.
