STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The No. 12 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's basketball team traveled to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday night, falling to the Pointers 89-69.

The Pointers jumped to an early lead but the Blugolds went on an 11-2 run to take a one-point lead with 2:52 minutes left in the first half. The teams would trade baskets down the stretch and Stevens Point would take a one-point lead into the locker room.

The second half would start with the teams going back and forth, however, the Pointer offense would heat up and score 13-straight points and never look back. Eau Claire would pull within nine but Stevens Point would hit 10 of 13 three's in the second half to seal the win.

Josh Weix (So. – Eau Claire, WI/North) led the Blugolds with 19 points and seven rebounds.  George Diekelman (Jr. – Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) added 15 points while Chris Duff (Jr. – Walker, MN) chipped in 10.

The Blugolds will look to bounce back on Wednesday at home as the host UW-Platteville at Zorn Arena.
