LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com)- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's basketball team fell Saturday night against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, 71-51.

Eau Claire struggled from the field shooting just 33 percent from the floor and shooting two of 25 from beyond the arc.

Jack Martinek  (Jr. New Brighton, MN/Irondale) led the team with 16 points shooting 50 percent and George Diekelman (So. Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

La Crosse would outshoot Eau Claire, shooting 44 percent from the floor. Austin Fritz (Jr. New Berlin/West) led La Crosse with 18 points as the Eagles would cruise to a victory scoring 43 points in the second half.

The Blugolds record now falls to 8-5 and 1-1 in WIAC play. UWEC will be back in action against the University of Wisconsin-Stout Wednesday, January 13th in Zorn Arena.
