OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's swim team travelled to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to take on the Titans on Saturday and came away with a staggering victory, beating UW-O 160.5 to 59.5.
Results
The men got off to a good start, taking the top four spots of the 400-yard medley relay, topped by the team of Thomas Hensen, Ben Fisher, Andrew Strauch, and Logan Coert with a time of 3:40.33.
Jacob Mehring tied for the top spot of the 1650-yard freestyle, recording a time of 18:32.96.
The 200-yard freestyle featured a 1-2-3 win by Nicholas Stern, Logan Coert, and Caleb Odmark with times of 1:52.63, 1:53.60, and 1:54.41.
The 50-yard freestyle was won by Ben Fisher, speeding to victory with a time of 22.36.
The Blugolds took the top five spots of the 200-yard IM, topped by Dayton Miller with a time of 2:04.15.
Ryan Young took the victory in the next swim event, the 200 yard butterfly, beating his teammate Andrew Strauch by over five seconds, finishing with a time of 1:58.43.
Eau Claire took another top three in the 100-yard freestyle, with Ben Fisher taking the top spot with a time of 50.04, and Noah Gannon and Konrad Plomendahl with times of 50.91 and 53.15, respectively.
Thomas Hansen took a victory in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.48.
Ryan Young added another win to his day, recording a time of 5:11.47, nearly 9 seconds faster than the next swimmer.
Dayton Miller took the last individual victory of the meet, winning the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.64.
The last event, the 800-yard freestyle relay was won by the Eau Claire team of Caleb Odmark, Ryan Young, Jack Kelly, and Logan Coert, finishing with a time of 7:30.25.
The Blugolds travel to Rochester for the Rochester Invite on December 4th and 5th, two weeks after today's meet.
