MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis had little trouble taking down UW-Stout, beating the Blue Devils 9-0 on the UW-Stout Tennis Courts today.

Sweeping singles play, four Blugolds dropped just three games on their way to winning in straight sets. The other two Blugolds dropped just four games.

Maddie Johnson (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn./South) won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Colleen McCullough (Jr.-Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) won 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 spot.

At No. 3 singles, Paige Kuepers (Jr.-Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) was victorious 6-0, 6-3 while Madison Rossebo (Sr.-Minnetonka, Minn.) won No. 4 singles 6-3, 6-0.

In doubles play, all three Blugold pairs won with scores of 8-1.

Eau Claire is now 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Stout drops to 1-7 on the season and 0-2 in the WIAC.

Tuesday, the Blugolds will be at UW-River Falls for a contest beginning at 3 p.m.
