Nick Badilla Leads Men's Swimming & Diving Team at UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Nick Badilla (Sr.-Appleton, Wis./North) won two events as the UW-Eau Claire men's swimming & diving team competed at UW-Whitewater today.

Badilla took first place in the one and three-meter dives. He scored 282.85 points on the three-meter while coming away with 271.45 points in the one-meter.

Three other Blugolds also won events today.

Spencer Rose (Jr.-Brookfield, Wis./Central) took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.42 and Jake McDade (So.-Monona, Wis./Monona Grove) won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:57.12. Corey Groshens (Sr.-St. Louis Park, Minn.) came away with a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:15.95.

Eau Claire also had 11 runner-up finishes today.

The Warhawks won the meet 134-109.

Next up for the Blugolds is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship, which will be contested Feb. 14-16 at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis.
