Box Score OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's volleyball team pushed UW-Oshkosh to four sets, but the top-ranked team in Division III would prove to be too much, defeating the Blugolds 3-1 Friday night at the Kolf Sports Center.
The Titans took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-10. The Blugolds rallied back in the third set with a 25-21 win and at one point had a 19-17 lead in the fourth. But the Titans, who are 161-20 in their last 181 matches, would go on to win the set 26-24 and the match 3-1 for their 24th consecutive home win.
Kristen Moore (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) led the Blugolds with 12 kills in the match, while Emily Zupon (Jr.-Antigo, Wis.) added 10. Rachel Ver Voort (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Middleton) recorded 17 digs and Blair Murphy (Jr.-Hermantown, Minn.) collected 14. Emily Neave (Fr.-Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) pitched in 31 assists on the night.
With the loss, the 14th-ranked Blugolds fall to 1-2 in WIAC play, but still maintain a 14-3 overall record on the year.
The team travels from Oshkosh up to Appleton for a pair of matches at Lawrence University (Wis.). The Blugolds will take on Knox College (Ill.) at 1 p.m. and Lawrence University at 3 p.m.
