Box Score STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's volleyball team bounced back from a tough loss Friday night to beat UW-Stevens Point 3-0 at Berg Gym on Saturday.
The 17th-ranked Blugolds improve to 18-5 on the year and 4-3 in WIAC play after the win. The Blugolds won the first set 25-18, the second 25-10 and took the third set 25-22. The team came away with seven blocks in the match. Stevens Point totaled four blocks.
Emily Zupon (Jr.-Antigo, Wis.) led the way for the Blugolds with a match-high 12 kills, while Blair Murphy (Jr.-Hermantown, Minn.) collected 12 digs and Rachel Ver Voort (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Middleton) added 11 of her own. Emily Neave (Fr.-Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) finished with a match-high 22 assists.
The team returns home Wednesday, Oct. 21 for a showdown with UW-Superior at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be the team's Senior Night.
