Box Score WHITEWATER, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's volleyball team lost in three sets to UW-Whitewater in Friday night's WIAC matchup at the Williams Center.
Whitewater looked to be in complete control early, but after losing the first set 13-25, the Blugolds kept the next two sets much closer, losing 22-25 in the second and 24-26 in the third.
Rachel Ver Voort (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Middleton) and Emily Zupon (Jr.-Antigo, Wis.) each recorded seven kills in the match. Blair Murphy (Jr.-Hermantown, Minn.) collected a match-high 21 digs, while Emily Neave (Fr.-Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) added 13 of her own. Neave also posted 17 assists.
After the loss, the 17th-ranked Blugolds drop to 17-5 on the year and 3-3 in WIAC play. The team will travel from Whitewater to Stevens Point for a matchup Saturday with the Pointers. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
