COLFAX, Wis. - With four different runners finishing in the top 20, the UW-Eau Claire men's cross country took third place out of 19 teams in its annual Blugold Open.
The Blugolds, ranked 24th in the nation, finished 10 points out of first place. St. Thomas won the open with 75 points, while St. Olaf took second with 78.
Jules Miller (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./East) led the pack for the Blugolds today, finishing in seventh place overall with a time of 25:37. Following Miller for the Blugolds was Chris Wirtz (Jr.-Weston, Wis./DC Everest) who took 13th overall with a time of 25:51. Brent Kann (Jr.-Rice Lake, Wis.) and Andy Warren (Sr.-Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) both finished with times of 25:55, but placed 16th and 17th, respectively.
The Blugolds will have a break next weekend and then will head off to West Salem for the UW-La Crosse Drews/Neubauer Invite on October 18 at 10:30 a.m.
