Minneapolis, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire Men's Cross Country team placed 12th out of 34 teams at the Roy Griak Invite held today at Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota.
UW-La Crosse won the event with 53 points. They had all of their top five runners in the top 25. UW-Platteville's Tyler Sigl ran a 25:21 and placed first individually. UW-Platteville also placed second as a team with 105 points. Iowa Central placed third with 108 points.
The Blugolds' top runner was Kevin Hall (Jr.-Green Bay, WI/Preble). Hall ran a 27:00 and placed 40th overall. Chris Wirtz (So.-Weston, WI/DC Everest) came in second for the Blugolds. Wirtz ran a 27:42 and finished in 80th place overall. Finishing after Wirtz was Andy Warren (Jr.-Kenosha, WI/Bradford). Warren placed 99th overall and ran a 28:03. Tony Carr (Jr.-Menomonie, WI) came in fourth for the Blugolds. Carr finished in 107th place and ran a 28:08. Max Renner (So.-Green Bay, WI/East) followed in 151st place. Renner ran a 28:51.
Next up for the Blugolds is the Old English Invite, hosted by Beloit College. The Old English Invite is on Saturday, October 6, 2007 and starts at 11 am.
