Men's Cross Country Takes Fourth Place At Old English Invite

BELOIT, Wis.? The UW-Eau Claire men's cross country team placed fourth out of seven teams at the Old English Invite today in Beloit, Wis.

Wisconsin Track Club took first place. Milwaukee School of Engineering placed second and the host, Beloit College, took third. UW-Eau Claire placed fourth, and Beloit Alumni took fifth place.

The top Blugold finisher was Max Renner (So.-Green Bay, WI/East) in eighth place overall. Following Renner was Stanton Jasicki (Fr.-Weyerhaeuser, WI). Jasicki took 13th place overall. Charlie Daehler (Fr.-Milwaukee, WI/Whitefish Bay) was third for the Blugolds and placed 18th overall. Bryan Willkom (Sr.-Marshfield, WI) was fourth for the Blugolds. Willkom placed 23rd overall. Following Willkom was Roger Schulz (Fr.-Salem, WI/Shoreland Lutheran). Schulz placed 27th overall. Jake Pellman (Fr.-Lodi, WI) placed 31st overall and sixth for the Blugolds. Kyle Kopidlansky (So.-Manitowoc, WI/Lincoln) followed Pellman in 36th place overall.

Coach Dan Schwamberger was pleased to see the team gain some experience.

"It was nice to see the younger runners do well today," Coach Schwamberger said.

Next up for the Blugolds is the UW-La Crosse Drews/Neubauer Invite on October 13, 2007. The Drews/Neubauer Invite will be held in West Salem, Wis. and starts at 10:30 am.
