Men's Cross Country Finishes 16th At Roy Griak

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire men's cross country finished in 16th place out of 40 NCAA Division II and III at the Roy Griak Invitational here today at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.

UW-La Crosse claimed first place with 87 points while MSU-Mankato finished second with 139. South Dakota took second place with 173 points while the Blugolds finished with 446 points.

Paul Zdroik (Fr.-Stevens Point/SPASH) led the way for the Blugolds, finishing in 26th place with a time of 26:36. Ben Schmiege (Sr.-Madison/Lakeside Lutheran) took second place on the Blugold roster and 63rd overall with a time of 27:02 while Ethan Kreul (Jr.-Poynette) took 74th place in a time of 27:13.

Micah Hernandez (Sr.-Milwaukee/Wisconsin Lutheran) took fourth on the Blugolds and 132nd overall with a time of 28:16 while Adam Zamzow (Fr.-Green Bay/Preble) rounded out the top five with a time of 28:26, good for 141st overall.

Josh Moen of Wartburg took first place individually out of a field of 368 runners with a time of 24:45.

The Blugolds will next be in action this Friday when they host the Pre National Meet in Colfax. The meet is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
