University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire

As of July 1, 2021, T. Andrew Israel, M.D., was named Head Team Physician at UW-Eau Claire. When he’s not attending to athletes on campus, Dr. Israel is busy caring for his patients as a surgeon with the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Dr. Israel also serves as a Clinical Professor in Kinesiology and Medical Director for the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program at UW-Eau Claire.

Dr. Israel received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He later completed an internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery while at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He holds a fellowship in Sports Medicine from the Lake Tahoe Orthopedic Institute and is certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Israel also holds the academic appointment of Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
