Robin Baker enters her 24th year with the UW-Eau Claire athletic department in 2024-25. Baker serves as the Blugolds' Associate Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator and heads the department's business affairs.
Baker joined UW-Eau Claire in 2001. She has served on NCAA volleyball and softball regional advisorty committees and served as the chair of the NCAA Division III Softball National Committee. She has also served as an assistant softball coach at UW-Eau Claire.
Baker had previously served as both the Head Softball Coach and Head Volleyball Coach at Wartburg College, leading the softball squad from 1990-99 and the volleyball team from 1990-98. Both teams earned their programs' first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA postseason under Baker's guidance — softball in 1994 and volleyball in 1997. Additionally, Baker was the PE Complex Manager in charge of community fitness memberships at Wartburg from 1990-99.
Following her time at Wartburg, Baker taught high school physical education at Nevada Community Schools in Nevada, Iowa, from 1999-01 while also coaching the high school volleyball and softball teams and serving as the Middle School Athletics Director in that span.
After graduating from North Kossuth High School in Swea City, Iowa, Baker was a standout student-athlete at Augustana College from 1985-89. She played four years of softball, a stint in which she was the team's starting catcher for four consecutive years. She was a two-time all-region selection and three-time all-conference pick, and helped the team win three conference titles and compete in three NCAA postseasons. Baker also played basketball at Augustana in 1985-86.
She graduated from Augustana in 1989 with an undergraduate degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation/Teaching and Coaching. She went on to earn a master's degree in Athletics Administration from St. Cloud State University in 1990.
