Jason Verdugo

Jason Verdugo enters his second year as UW-Eau Claire's Director of Athletics in 2024-25.

Verdugo was named UW-Eau Claire's Director of Athletics on June 15, 2023. He joined UW-Eau Claire after serving as the Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics at Hamline University from 2012-2023. He was the recipient of the 2019 NACDA Division III Athletics Director of the Year award. He has served on numerous NCAA committees during his career as an administrator. Currently, Verdugo is the chair of the NCAA Division III Management Council, and serves on the NCAA's Board of Governors and the NCAA Division III Championships committee.

Verdugo coached the baseball team at Hamline from 2001-2012. He is the winningest coach in Hamline history, compiling more than 200 victories.

Verdugo played both baseball and football at Arizona State University, competing as a pitcher on the Sun Devils baseball team which reached the College World Series in 1994. He went on to be drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 1997 and played in the minor leagues for four years.
