Amy Rantala, M.D. worked as a family medicine physician for 20-plus years before turning her attention to training for a sports medicine fellowship. Now practicing in the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Dr. Rantala’s sports medicine practice is inclusive of accomplished athletes, those just starting out, trying to set a personal record, and active people pursuing their passions. She believes we all have an athlete in us and that exercise is the best medicine.

Dr. Rantala received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota. She completed her fellowship in Sports Medicine from the University of Chicago (NorthShore). She is certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Rantala also holds the academic appointment of Instructor in Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
