Jarrad Vroman enters his second season as UW-Eau Claire's Head Women's Ice Hockey Coach in 2026-27.
In 2025-26, Vroman led the Blugolds to a 20-8 record and a 10-2 record in WIAC play. The season was highlighted by a pair of top-10 victories over #1 River Falls and #10 Hamline Univeristy. The team earned the two-seed in the WIAC Tournament/O-Brien Cup, defeating UW-Stevens Point twice to advance to the WIAC Championship game. Vroman coached eight student-athletes to All-WIAC awards, including five to the All-WIAC Team. Ava Bullert was named the recipient of the 2026 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Ice Hockey Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award.
Vroman, a UW-Eau Claire alumnus, takes over the Blugold bench following two seasons as an assistant coach for the men’s hockey team at Augsburg University. With Vroman on the coaching staff, the Auggies won a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2024.
Prior to his coaching career, Vroman played for the UW-Eau Claire men’s hockey team before entering the professional ranks. He helped the Blugolds win a regular season Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in 2020 and a WIAC Commissioner’s Cup in 2022. A defenseman, Vroman tallied 25 points across his career.
After his Blugold career, Vroman played one season of professional hockey in the SPHL with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. He helped the Rail Yard Dawgs win the President's Cup in 2023.
The Lincoln Park, Michigan, native also has extensive experience as a hockey instructor with the likes of Bowman Hockey and FHIT Hockey. He also volunteered with the Detroit Ice Dreams nonprofit for several years.
Vroman currently resides in Eau Claire with his wife, Bree, and their daughter, Sophie. Bree a UW-Eau Claire women's hockey Alumnus, holds the record for most career games played (121).
