Will Gomez was begins his second year with Blugold gymnastics as an assistant coach in 2026.

Prior to joining UW–Eau Claire, Gomez served as a student manager for the Division I women’s gymnastics program at University of Florida.

Working primarily with the floor lineup during the 2025 season, Gomez helped guide student athletes Anna Preussner and Hanna Riha to scores of 9.800 — tied for the fourth-highest individual floor scores in program history. He also assisted with the team achieving their season-high floor exercise total (48.550) at the NCGA National Championships. He also assisted with the bars squad during a record-breaking season for the event and served as acting head coach while Head Coach Jessie Deziel was on maternity leave. 

Gomez played a key role in helping the Blugolds reach the NCGA Nationals as a team for the first time in 13 years, where the team posted a 192.800 score, just one tenth shy of a program record, at the peak of competition.

As a former gymnast, Gomez brings elite competitive experience to his coaching. Training at Park Avenue Gymnastics, he was a six-time Junior Olympic National Champion, earning four national titles on floor exercise, one on vault, and one all-around championship. His combination of high-level athletic experience, technical knowledge, and athlete-centered coaching continues to make an immediate impact within the UW–Eau Claire gymnastics program.

Will earned his Master’s degree in Sport Management along with certification as an Athlete Development Specialist, further strengthening his background in athlete performance, leadership, and development.
