Jessie DeZiel

Jessie DeZiel enters her fifth year as Head Gymnastics Coach at UW-Eau Claire in 2025-26.

DeZiel has helped the Blugolds rewrite the record books since her arrival. Her athletes have set new program records in several events, including uneven bars, floor exercise and all-around. Her squad also shattered UW-Eau Claire's team scoring record twice during the 2024 season and set new team highs on the vault, beam and floor.

DeZiel's teams have produced an individual national champion and three All-Americans. Tia Ravara won an all-around national title in 2023, becoming the Blugolds' first national champion since 2012 and only their fifth champion overall.

She works with Team USA Gymnastics on the Athletes' Council/Selection Committee, where she began in February of 2020. With the postponement of the 2020 Olympics, DeZiel helped select the team that captured two individual gold medalists and a team overall silver medal.

DeZiel was a standout gymnast during her career, starring at the University of Nebraska. In her fours years as a Husker, DeZiel captured 61 individual event victories, was named a nine-time All-American, set program records as a freshman and sophomore, was a two-time Big Ten Champion, and was named 2015 Nebraska Female Athlete Student-Athlete of the Year. Competing internationally, DeZiel was a gold medalist at the 2011 Pan American Games.

After wrapping up her competitive career, the Rogers, Minnesota, native held assistant coaching roles at Ball State University, the University of Illinois and the University of Nebraska before joining UW-Eau Claire.
