Scott Whirry

Scott Whirry enters his third season as an assistant coach with the UW-Eau Claire men's and women's track and field teams in 2026-27.

In the three years Whirry has been working with the long/triple jump crew at UWEC, 5 long jumpers and 1 triple jumper have moved into the UWEC all-time top 10. Previous to joining the UWEC track & field staff, Whirry started and ran the strength and conditioning programs at Eau Claire North High School as well as coached sprinters and jumpers for their track & field teams. During his time at Eau Claire North Whirry coached athletes who set all boys sprint and relay records and the top 2 girl long jumpers in school history. Whirry competed for the Blugolds for four years in track & field earning All-American honors 4 times (3x long jump / 1x 4x100 relay) and still holds both the indoor and outdoor school records in the long jump with a personal best of 24’1”. He also has lifetime best in the sprint events of 10.93 in the 100m and 21.93 in the 200m.
