Dan Halvorson enters his first year as an assistant men's tennis coach at UW-Eau Claire in 2023-24.

Dr. HalvorsonĀ is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association and a former player on the European Tour. He played on the European Tour from 1969-72 after starring at St. Olaf College, where he earned All-America honors, won three Midwest Conference titles and reached the national semifinals three times. He has served on the USTA National Sports Medicine Committee for Tennis Physiology & Nutrition and worked at USTA Northern Area Training Centers for 10-plus years.

Halvorson graduated from Owatonna High School in Minnesota, where he was a state semifinalist three times and won four district titles.

HalvorsonĀ has an MS and PhD in Physiology, Nutrition, Kinesiology and Bioenergetics from the University of Minnesota. He has worked as a tennis physiologist-nutritionist for many amateur and professional athletes, including University of Minnesota student-athletes and several professional tennis players and professional skiers.
