Personal
Why did you choose Eau Claire?

"I chose UW-Eau Claire because it feels like a home away from home. I wanted to be a little bit away from home by myself but also close enough to see family. The campus is beautiful is what I’m told and my major ranks second in the entire UW system."

Why do you choose to play Division III?

"Division 3 was all that’s available, but I believe that Division 3 athletics are where you will find the hardest working people. They genuinely want to play the sport and not for the money. When I was in my senior year of high school, college running was something that was very far fetched. Once I broke 10 minutes in the 2 mile for my first time however, that’s where I really wanted to be put in a spotlight to show how far I’ve come as an athlete and as a person. That summer before Senior year I lost 40 lbs to really pursue my sport and break all my times."

Who is your role model/mentor? Why are they important to you?

"My mentor is my high-school coach Mr. Jack Micholic, even though I’m 2 years out of high school now, he is always someone I can talk to for running advice or just life advice in general. It’s always very helpful when your high school coach ran Division 2 back in the day, so he has really great insights. Such an amazing person to be around."

If you could have dinner with any athlete, past or present, who would it be and why?

"I would have to go with the Greatest to ever do it — Tom Brady, Tom Brady was someone who was always doubted and never taken serious. I feel like that’s how a lot of my athletic career early on started out. I used to get made fun of for “trying too hard” or “being a show off” when in reality I was putting in hard work day in and day out to prove I belong. I’m happy I finally found a home at UW-Eau Claire, I’ve been welcomed by so many open arms and great people I know I’ll get taken care of here."

What is on your pregame playlist?

"I love listening to Trap music, I’m always in a pumped mood and it’s an extra kick to me to get locked in for raves."

If you weren't playing your sport, what sport would you compete in instead?

"I used to play Baseball as a kid up until my Sophomore year, I would like to say I was really good at Baseball, I was a plug and play guy where I could play anywhere and perform well. I was in horrible shape however when I played. I think if I had my cross country fitness and played baseball now, there’d be no doubt I’d crush Baseball."

What's the most unusual item you always have in your backpack or locker?

"Maybe a shampoo/conditioner bottle— never know when you need to shower in a crucial moment."

What's a talent you have that most people don't know about?

"I’m a very driven person, more than what people think. When I was an unattached runner last year. I drove to every single meet I had, the furthest I drove for one race was 6 hours to Rockford, Illinois. I also drove to Plateville, La Crosse, Whitewater, all being more than 3 hours away from me, just to run a 5K/10K, the amount of mental toughness you need to do that is insane."
