ST. PAUL, Minn. — UW-Eau Claire sits in fifth place after two rounds at the Minnesota Golf Classic, carding a 585 (+9) through 36 holes at Pioneer Creek Golf Course. The Blugolds' "B" team is eighth at 605 (+29). UWEC sits 12 strokes behind host Bethel University for the top spot.

The Blugolds opened the tournament with a 296 (+8) before posting a 289 (+1) in the second round. Spencer Lynch leads UW-Eau Claire individually, sitting tied for eighth at 141 (-3). Lynch opened with a 71 (-1) before firing a 70 (-2) in the second round on the par-72, 6,953-yard course. He recorded eight birdies across the two rounds, including five in his second round.

Samuel Forslund is tied for 40th at 147 (+3) after rounds of 75 (+3) and 72 (E). Michael Markley follows in a tie for 46th at 148 (+4), carding rounds of 75 (+3) and 73 (+1). Markley recorded five birdies during the day. Luke Taebel is tied for 49th at 149 (+5) after rounds of 75 (+3) and 74 (+2). Karsen Kruse rounds out the Blugolds' lineup, sitting tied for 69th at 152 (+10) after posting a pair of 77s (+5).

UW-Eau Claire's "B" team sits eighth at 605 (+29), improving from an opening-round 306 (+18) with a 299 (+11) in the second round. Johnathan Amtmann is tied for 49th at 149 (+5) after rounds of 76 (+4) and 73 (+1). Amtmann's second round included three birdies and an eagle. Bennett Madson is tied for 57th at 150 (+6), following rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2). Madson carded seven birdies across the two rounds. Cameron Stenzel is at 153 (+9), while Ryan Jamieson rounds out the "B" team at 157 (+13).
