SUPERIOR, Wis. — UW-Eau Claire opened the 8th Annual Twin Ports Collegiate in first-place Friday at Nemadji Golf Course, carding a 300 (+16) in the opening round. The Blugolds' "B" team finished the round in seventh place with a 345 (+61).

Tally Schlindwein leads the field individually, shooting a 72 (+1) with four birdies on the back nine. Grace Raich followed with a 75 (+4) on 15 pars to finish third overall, while Karalyn Skinner tied for fourth with a 76 (+5), including back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15. Elizabeth Hermann rounded out the Blugolds' top four, tying for sixth with a 77 (+6). Lilly Kaminski added a 79 (+8) and tied for 10th with two birdies.

Emily Utter leads the Blugolds "B" team with an 81 (+10), including a chip-in 71 yard eagle shot on hole 11.

The Blugolds will return to the course for Day 2 on Saturday, September 19 at 8:30 a.m.
