Fanning Joins Women's Basketball Coaching Ranks

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (www.blugolds.com) - University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire head women's basketball coach, Hannah Iverson, has announced that Kyleigh Fanning will join the Blugold women's basketball program as Associate Head Coach, reuniting the duo whose impacts has been felt across the WIAC for nearly a decade as the team enters a new era rooted in tradition, competitive excellence, and a shared vision for sustained success.

"Kyleigh embodies everything we want our program to stand for toughness, accountability, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the court," Iverson exclaimed. "She is a proven winner and an even better person, and she will play a key role in continuing to elevate our program. We're excited to continue working together here at Eau Claire."

Fanning arrives in Eau Claire after nine seasons on the UW–Stout coaching staff, where she played a pivotal role in elevating the Blue Devils into one of the WIAC's most competitive and nationally recognized programs. Her leadership contributed to 25 All-WIAC selections, six WIAC All-Defensive Team honorees, six D3hoops.com All-Region selections, and two All-Americans, while also supporting exceptional academic achievement with 91 WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll recipients and 13 CSC Academic All-District selections.

"Adding Kyleigh to our women's basketball staff is a significant addition for our program," said Kyle Seyer, Assistant Athletic Director and chair of the head coach search committee. "Her track record of success as both a coach and recruiter is highly respected across the WIAC and beyond. When you look at top programs nationally, there is a clear level of continuity and sustained success that comes with a strong associate head coach. Hannah and Kyleigh have a proven partnership, and we are excited about what they will accomplish together here at UW–Eau Claire."

During her tenure, UW–Stout reached historic heights, including the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Final Four appearance in 2025 following a 23–8 season and a postseason run that featured wins over nationally ranked opponents. The Blue Devils also captured the 2024 WIAC Tournament Championship, advancing to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2006. In 2023, Stout secured a share of the WIAC regular-season title, marking the program's first conference championship in more than 15 years.

"I'm incredibly honored and grateful to be joining Coach Iverson and UW-Eau Claire Women's Basketball," Fanning said. "The facilities and resources offered to student-athletes here are truly some of the best in the country. I'm excited to bring a championship culture and shared vision of excellence on and off the court!"

A former Blue Devil standout herself, Fanning was a four-year player at UW–Stout from 2012–16, earning First Team All-WIAC honors as a senior and serving as a three-time team captain. She concluded her collegiate career with 821 points and 235 assists, following a decorated multi-sport career at Spencer High School. Kyleigh graduated from UW-Stout with a bachelor's degree in applied science and received her master's degree from Arkansas State in sports administration. Fanning resides in Eau Claire with her husband, Brandon, and their son, Ollie.
