MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced the Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of January 26-February 1. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey's Dayne Hoyord has been named the Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week by anonymous vote of WIAC head coaches and Sports Information Directors.

Dayne Hoyord helped the Blugolds capture four points on the weekend with two goals and one assist to earn UW-Eau Claire an overtime and shootout win against UW-Superior. On Friday, Hoyord opened the scoring for UWEC just three minutes into the game. After the Yellowjackets tied the game later in the first, Hoyord assisted on the Eau Claire go-ahead goal in the second period. During Saturday's contest, Hoyord tied the game late in the third period with his seventh goal of the season before the Blugolds went on to win in overtime. Hoyord was also +2 on the weekend.
