EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — UW-Eau Claire opened the Georgianni Blugold Invitational in first place Saturday, carding a 312 (+28) in the opening round at Lake Wissota Golf Course. UW-La Crosse sits in second place, 20 strokes behind the Blugolds.

Lilly Kaminski led the field with a 75 (+4), recording 13 pars and one birdie. Tally Schlindwein followed in a tie for second at 77 (+6), carding three birdies on the par-71, 5,596-yard course.

Grace Raich finished the opening round tied for fourth at 78 (+7) with two birdies, while Karalyn Skinner is tied for sixth at 82 (+11). Elizabeth Hermann rounded out the Blugolds' lineup in eighth place with an 84 (+13).

The Blugolds' "B" team was led by Emily Utter, who carded an 88 (+17) and sits tied for 13th.

UWEC competes at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club for the final round Sunday, Oct. 4, with an 11:30 a.m. tee time.
