MILWAUKEE, Wis. — UW-Eau Claire (10-4-1) secured a 3–1 victory over MSOE (7-7-1) at the Kern Center. The Blugolds opened strong with two first-period goals and maintained their lead with a shorthanded goal while outshooting the Raiders 28-22.
The first period began with MSOE winning the initial faceoff, but UW-Eau Claire quickly took control.
Easton Inglis opened the scoring at 17:45, netting the first goal for the Blugolds with an assist from
Cameron Bullinger. MSOE had a chance to respond with a power play, but UW-Eau Claire's
Kade Peterson scored a short-handed goal at 11:06, assisted by
Carter Green, to extend the lead to 2–0.

Leo Bacallao scored at 16:25 of the second period, assisted by
Carter Green, to extend the lead to 3–0. Shortly after, the Blugolds faced a penalty with
Luke Lavery called for high-sticking at 16:41, giving MSOE a power play. MSOE capitalized on this opportunity when Jacob Bosse netted a power-play goal at 18:12, assisted by Sam Lyons and Cole Beilke, reducing UW-Eau Claire's lead to 3–1. The period concluded with the score at 3–1 in favor of the visitors.
The third period saw the Blugolds maintain a 3–1 lead over MSOE without any changes in the score. MSOE had several power-play opportunities, including a two-minute advantage at 17:14 and another at 13:52, but the Blugold penalty kill units held firm, with
Danny Reis notably blocking a shot by Eddie Shepler. MSOE pulled their goalie at 1:48 in favor of an extra attacker, but they were unable to capitalize on the pressure.
Max Gutjahr made key saves in the final minutes, including a crucial stop on Cole Beilke's shot with under a minute remaining, to secure the victory for Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Leo Bacallao scored one goal and recorded four shots on goal.
Kade Peterson found the back of the net with a game-winning goal, contributing to his team's success.
Easton Inglis added a goal and achieved a 72% success rate in faceoffs, winning eight of 11 attempts. Goalie
Max Gutjahr finished with 21 saves, allowing only one goal in the matchup.
The Blugolds improved to 10-4-1 overall after securing the victory. MSOE fell to 7-7-1 overall following the close contest.
