NEKOOSA, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team successfully defended its title at the WIAC Championship on Tuesday, placing first for the second consecutive year. All three teams at the tournament had two five-player squads competing, and the Blugolds' two units took first and second place.
The tournament, which was held for the second time, is an unofficial WIAC championship. The conference does not sponsor men's golf. The three full-time WIAC members that have men's golf programs — UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout — squared off for a de facto title this week.
