Hosack places 40th at nationals in 200-yard freestyle

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team continued competing at the NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday at Greensboro Aquatic Center. Molly Hosack (Jr. - Cedarburg, Wis.) was the lone Blugold in action on the second day of the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hosack placed 40th in the women's 200-yard freestyle prelims. She finished in 1:53.69.
  • Only the top 16 swimmers plus two alternates advanced to the finals and consolation finals in the event.
  • Hosack competed in the 200 free at nationals for the second consecutive season. She improved on last year's performance, where she placed 47th.

UP NEXT

The Blugolds have one competitor each on the final two days of the NCAA Championships. Blake Wallen (So. - Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) will compete in men's one-meter diving on Friday, March 21, while Hosack will swim in the women's 1,650-yard freestyle on Saturday, March 22. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. Eastern each day.
