BROWN DEER, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams added more conference titles on the third day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on Friday at Schroeder Aquatic Center. The Blugold men will take a lead into the final day of the meet, while the women sit in second place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blugold men and women combined to win six individual conference titles on Friday. The men have 581 points and lead the team standings ahead of second-place UW-La Crosse at 467. The Blugold women have 577 points, sitting only behind UW-La Crosse (744).
- Elaina Plonis (Sr. - Macomb, Mich./Eisenhower) won the conference title in the women's 100-yard butterfly. She finished in 56.95 seconds. It was UW-Eau Claire's first conference title in the event since 1996.
- Emma Vogen (So. - Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) won the WIAC title in the 400-yard individual medley. She clocked in at 4:35.28. It was the Blugolds' first win in the event since 2017.
- The Blugold men won four conference titles. Ben Keller (Sr. - Cedarburg, Wis.) prevailed in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 48.94 seconds. It was the first 100 fly win for the Blugolds since 2022.
- Kadin Denner (Sr. - Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail) won the 400-yard individual medley in 3:59.41. He won the event for the third consecutive season.
- Drew Testin (So. - Mequon, Wis./Homestead) won the 200-yard freestyle title. He clocked in at 1:40.88.
- Zhander Rowley (So. - Janesville, Wis./Parker) clinched the WIAC title in the 100-yard breaststroke. He clocked in at 55.15 seconds to win the event for the second consecutive season.
