LA CROSSE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire narrowly fell to UW-La Crosse with a final score of 23-12 in a closely contested dual.
Wyatt Unser got things rolling for UWEC with a 5-2 decision over Teague Holzer at 133 lbs, to tie the match at 3-3.
Landon Church delivered a close 6-4 decision over Joe Penchi in the 149 lbs category, tying the contest at 6-6.
Gage Losiewicz found the Blugolds' first lead with a 9-4 decision against Kolt Knaack at 157 lbs., making it 9-6 in favor of Eau Claire
The Blugolds fell in the next four matches but finished the night in the win column as
Cole Matulenko defeated Carter Lueck in a tough fought 10-7 decision, bringing the final score to 23-12.
The Blugolds are now 2-3 in duals this season and are 2-1 in WIAC competitions.
Looking ahead, the next challenge for the Blugolds will take place on January 3, 2026, at 8 a.m. The Crytzer Memorial Invite is set to be held in Lexington, Va. and hosted by Washington and Lee University.
