Chicago, Ill. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire competed at the 2025 D3 Shootout, highlighted by
Elaina Plonis's second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.57.
Molly Hosack led the Blugolds team with a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:06.85. She also secured sixth in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:55.94. Plonis delivered a strong performance in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing second with a time of 2:05.57 and added ninth in the 100-yard butterfly at 58.31.
Amber Winter contributed significantly with an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 1:07.03, and was part of the eighth-place finishing team in the mixed 400-yard relay 4x100 I.M.
Anwen Smith, a freshman, made an impact with a tenth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 25.09, and participated in the eighth-place women's 200-yard medley relay team.
Plonis recorded a second-place finish in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:05.57, earning 22 points. She also secured ninth place in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 58.31, contributing an additional 15 points. Hosack achieved a third-place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle, timing in at 5:06.85 and earning 21 points. She also placed sixth in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:55.94, adding 18 points to the team's total. Winter participated in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and the Mixed 400 Yard Relay 4x100 I.M., both of which finished eighth, contributing a combined total of 64 points. Winter also earned 16 points by placing eighth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.03. Smith placed 10th in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 25.09, earning 14 points. She also contributed to the team's eighth-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, which finished in 1:38.78, adding 32 points.
